Darcy Malone’s dreams of mission work are dashed on her eve of fulfilling them: The Guatemalan school she was to teach at has closed. But it’s Darcy herself who will encounter a surprising rescue in the form of unexpected love, forgiveness, and the power of letting go.
Can men and women be “just friends”? Darcy’s been friends with guys for years and as her mission trip falls apart, completely upending her plans for the next year, she must come to terms with the men in her life. Along the way she goes back to training dogs, and the author does such a wonderful job of describing it: challenging but doable. I really wish she could train my dog! The complications of relationships, the hardships of balancing jobs and living situations, yet the joys of life and the need for God are all woven together in a delightful novel.
This novel is the second in the State of Grace series and although there are references to the previous characters it pretty much stands alone, although one might prefer to read them in order. I really enjoyed this book and recommend it! I received a copy of this book from the publisher. I am freely writing a review – all thoughts and opinions are my own.
